If you have already tackled the Introduction to Basic Stroke Work of Rosemaling class with Lise, we welcome you back with fun sessions to continue your journey and learn basic stroke work with a new pattern and project! Join us for more S and C scroll painting, and learn how to prepare your surface, apply a base coat, and transfer a pattern. Keep on dipping your brush in the paint and toe in the waters with other rosemalers. Develop your technique further and meet new friends. The class will include demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice. The class will be taught using acrylic paint.

Welcome! (Or should we say Velkommen?) Come try your hand at the Telemark style of rosemaling and make a welcome sign to greet visitors to your home! In this class that includes demonstration and plenty of hands-on practice, you will have the opportunity to choose between making a sign reading "Welcome" in English or the Norwegian "Velkommen." This class is designed for beginning painters with previous experience, as well as more advanced painters and will be taught using acrylic paints.

If you’ve ever thought about trying rosemaling, here’s a great opportunity to take the brush in hand! Rosemaling is the wonderful folk art of Norway that is based on the flowing scrolls and flowers that are made up of "C" and "S" strokes. This class introduces students to these basic strokes that are the foundation of rosemaling, as well as the detailed line work that completes a rosemaling project. The class will include demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice while students learn the strokes and complete a project on board.

The class will be taught using acrylic paint. If you’ve painted with oil, this would be a good opportunity to explore acrylics. This will be a fun class that will give anyone who is interested in trying rosemaling the opportunity to dip your toe in the water, or actually tip your brush into the paint!

Join Lise for a fun exploration of the Os style (Hordeland) of rosemaling with this colorful design. This pattern will be painted on a base-coated Bristol board that will be great for framing and hanging on the wall once the class is complete.
